About Me

Hi, I'm Maddie, owner of BlackWire Co.

I'm in my early thirties, a proud parent, an electrician, a technology enthusiast, and someone who has spent most of my life trying to understand how things work.

Some people may see a light switch, or a car, or a piece of equipment and think nothing of it. I've never been wired that way. When I look at something, I naturally start thinking about what is happening beneath the surface. How was it designed? Why was it built that way? What makes it work, and, What happens when it fails?

Family

That curiosity started when I was very young. Family stories say that at around two years old I managed to get hold of one of my dad's screwdrivers and began removing doorknobs around the house. At one point I accidentally locked one of my brothers in his room. While my methods have improved considerably since then, the curiosity never went away.

My father is a master mechanic, and I inherited his fascination with understanding machines, and, how they function.. Whether it's a vehicle, a computer, electrical grid, or a random piece of equipment, I've always wanted to know not only how it works, but why it was designed that way in the first place.

Before entering the electrical trade, I spent eight years as a manager for AFX Music and another three years working with our sister company "audio/video stage and media support". Those years taught me how to solve problems under pressure, work with people from all walks of life, and keep complex projects moving forward.

I later spent time assembling prefabricated metal structures, and, operating construction equipment, before ultimately finding my way into electrical work.

Ironically, electricity was something I was once afraid of. Like many people, I didn't enjoy being shocked and wanted very little to do with it. During the uncertainty of the COVID era, a friend encouraged me to consider electrical work as a career path. It wasn't a direction I expected to take, but it became one of the best decisions I've ever made.

I spent years in residential construction helping build thousands of homes before transitioning into electrical service work. The combination of construction experience and service experience gave me a well rounded understanding of both how systems are built and how they fail. Those experiences taught me the importance of troubleshooting, communication, patience, and finding practical solutions for real world problems.

Over the years, I've also helped establish electrical departments for other companies and assisted businesses as they launched new service divisions.

Outside of electrical work, technology has always been a major passion of mine. I operate a personal server lab hosting dozens of services, cloud applications, automation systems, communication tools, and development projects, to name a few.

I maintain information archives and online resources because I believe knowledge should be preserved and shared whenever possible. I also enjoy designing automated systems that can take complicated tasks and simplify them into something people can actually use.

As a business owner, I enjoy working for myself because it gives me the freedom to provide the kind of service I believe customers deserve. we respect your home and we do not believe in high pressure sales tactics. If there's a problem, I'll explain it. If there are options, I'll walk you through them. If I don't know something, I'll tell you and find the answer. My goal is very simple: leave every customer better off than they were before they called.

There have been times when I've stayed after hours helping restore power, and, diagnosing difficult issues to assist customers who are facing urgent situations. I've answered emergency calls, worked through weekends, and even spent birthdays helping people who suddenly found themselves without. Every customer can expect that same level of service because I understand how important utilities are; modern life depends on them.

At the end of the day, I believe in treating people with kindness, and respect. I believe everyone deserves a fair chance, and to have someone whos willing to listen.

Thank you for taking the time to learn a little about me. I look forward to earning your trust and helping with your next project.
